Goblin Bombers
Goblin Bombers was a digital board game I made as a class project for Stone Librande's Game Design Fundamentals. I drew inspirations from Chess, Go and Ludo and designed this game that you play on a circular chessboard, capture enemy pieces when you surround them, and run around the board to deliver bombs to opponents' bases.

"I enjoyed playing Goblin Bombers and wish that we had time to apply my newfound knowledge to a second game. As I played, I discovered several interesting tricks that I would like to try out. This made it seem like the game has a lot of depth and replay value. I particularly enjoyed the player-to-player diplomacy that occurred near the end game, as we all pleaded for our lives...Normally, I’m not a fan of games where dice rolls control movement. It tends to make things too unpredictable and can result in huge swings based on a few lucky/unlucky rolls in a row. In Goblin Bombers, I didn’t mind it though. Because you created your own custom dice, and changed around the movement characteristics of each goblin type, it didn’t feel swingy. The major benefit of the movement randomness was that it reduced the analysis paralysis that would have resulted had there been fixed movement per piece. This made for quick turns, which kept the players energized and engaged. Rules like these set the frantic mood you want your players to feel in a game about goblins running around with bombs." —— Stone
