Custom TCG Design
This is a custom expansion I designed for the tabletop game Marvel Legendary by Upper Deck. You can find all the cards, along with other custom designs I’ve created for games like Lorcana, Magic: The Gathering, and Hearthstone, here.
Expansion Name:
Marvel 1872
Setting:
Face off against Mayor Wilson Fisk and his outlaw gangs, and defend the frontier town of Timely alongside Sheriff Steve Rogers, Gunsmith Tony Stark, Bounty Hunter Natasha Romanoff, Red Wolf, and Town Doctor Bruce Banner in this new 105-card Western-themed expansion, Marvel 1872. This expansion introduces 5 new Heroes, 1 new Mastermind, 1 Villain group, 1 Henchmen group, and 2 Schemes — all with original western-inspired art.
New Keywords:
Quickdraw: Quickdraw represents the lightning-fast reflexes of Western gunslingers, drawing their weapons in a split second to turn the tide. You may resolve this effect only if you put this card into your hand during your turn (not during your normal end-of-turn draw). When you do, you must play it immediately after drawing it to activate its Quickdraw effect.
Showdown: Showdown represents tense Western standoffs and one-on-one challenges. When you resolve a Showdown effect, you compare your current Attack to the target’s Attack value.
On Hero cards, Showdown effects (always) trigger when you play the Hero and choose a Villain or Mastermind to challenge. If your total Attack (including this card) is higher than the target’s Attack, you gain a bonus effect. If is lower, you gain a Wound. If it is the same, nothing happens.
On Villains with Ambush — Showdown, the Showdown triggers immediately when the Villain enters the city. Each player (or the current player) reveals their hand and totals their printed Attack individually. If anyone’s is less than the Villain’s Attack, they gain a Wound.
When resolving a Showdown, players cannot play additional cards or activate effects to increase their Attack after revealing their hand. It is an immediate test of speed and nerve, using only the cards they currently hold.
"At high noon, there is no time to plan — you draw and pray you’re faster."
Cards:
5 Heroes * 14 cards each = 70 cards
1 (Mastermind’s) Villain Group – 1+2+2+3 = 8 cards
1 Henchmen Group – 10 cards
1 Mastermind + 4 tactics = 5 cards
2 Schemes
1 Wound – 10 cards
A Total of 105 Cards
